Maff.

This is the culmination of about 2 weeks jammed into one post.  Hope you dig!

It's official...the thursday night Office parties are turning into a real treat.  Mafia is fun (almost ready to try a new game), but it's cool to have a fun night to invite people to.  And also to meet new people myself.  If you haven't been, I strongly suggest you try it out!

I carved an awesome pumpkin this year that I am way proud of.  I call it "The Way of the Wolfe."  Sorry for the cell-phone camera quality.

So last weekend I was fortunate enough to play in the junior high service.  We played this really epic Barlow Girl song, but it would've been twice as epic with a keychange.  No debate.  But we made excellent use of the backlit projector for some "ipod dancer" type silhouettes.  About 20-30 kids were standing behind this screen for most of the song, and then the screen raised up to reveal the choir of students.  Sooo rad.  Here's a pic during rehearsal.

aaaand a video from the night I didn't play.  But just for effect.

I haven't been working a lot lately due to school and church and stuff (which is definitely a good thing haha)
but I took a pic of the inside. Pretty sweeeeet.

Speaking of church stuff, it's been a challenging week with the news of the Alternative service being cancelled.  For 8 years, music was my relationship with God.  I got emotional when I played and was able to talk to God through my drumming.  But now that my outlet is no longer there, I'm finding out that my walk with God has been one dimensional.  I have not been devoted to reading my bible, tithing, helping others, and even praying for that matter because, in my mind, I was satisfied in my relationship with God.  But through this news, I think I finally realized that he's not satisfied with my commitment (or lack thereof).  So I'm taking this news in stride, and seeking new ways (for me) to talk to Him again.  With that said, it's time for me to be more than a sunday morning christian.

That's all for now.

Wicked.

The last few days have been solid.  This last weekend we played "American Dream" by Switchfoot at the Alternative.  There was this sweet graphic on the screen of an american flag made out of sparkling sequins.  My description won't do it justice, but needless to say, we had some fun with it.

The song was stinkin hard to play!

Yesterday was the daytrip to Prescott that I put off for months.  But I finally did it!  Kurt and I went to this cool coffee shop/bar called The Raven.  The bathroom was really cool, it was one of those free-for-all art walls, where you could literally put up whatever you want.  Pretty sweet.

After the Raven, we went over to Gurley St. Grill and Bar.  We loaded up on breadsticks and then couldn't finish our lunch haha.  Here's a video of my monsterous cowboy burger.

Now I'm back to the real world.  Some BIG things on the horizon, so look out for that.

Genesis.

So I realized in typing the first sentence of this blog three different times, that I think too much about what I say.  I hardly ever shoot from the hip.  I don't know why I decided to create this blogspot (I already spend too much time on my computer), but maybe it'll put some pressure on me to do the things I want to do, instead of envying others for the life they are bold enough to live.  If there is one goal I have for this, I guess it would be that I have some fun and defining moments to fill this page with.  Help me?
